Confidences de Prieure Lichine Margaux 2014: This jewel from France's well known vineyard Château Prieuré-Lichine, regarded as one of Margaux's most consistent producers is known for its elegance and suppleness, derived in part from the relatively high proportion of Merlot in the blend. Bright floral and spice notes perk up the red stone fruit nicely in this sensual, silky Margaux. In 1972, the pope of wine, Alexis Lichine, first made the estate's second wine under its original label of Chateau de Clairefont, or as it is also called now, Confidences de Prieure-Lichine. This Margaux benefits from the same methods of harvesting, vinification, and follow-up as the Classified Growth. It is made with the grapes of younger vines and is aged in second and third-fill barrels for 14 months.
