Taste Profile
This prestigious appellation charms both those curious about the vineyards, intrigued by the name "Les Demoiselles," and connoisseurs who appreciate the proximity of the Grand Cru vineyards. The name "Les Demoiselles" pays homage to the (elderly) daughters of a General from Beaune in the early 19th century , Adèle and Julie Voillot, who owned the property and died unmarried. This lovely name is reserved for the southern part of the plot, which is also registered under another name: "Les Caillerets." "Les Demoiselles" is also used as an addition to the "Chevalier-Montrachet" appellation for wines produced from the Chevalier Grand Cru vineyard located just above it on the hillside.
