France - Bordeaux Second Wines
The second wines of acclaimed chateaux have records all the way back to the 17th century. A Second Wine represents a wine produced from the same vineyards as the grand vin that serves as an introduction to the name, but at a more accessible price. In the vineyard and winery, these wines receive the same treatment as their “older sibling”, made by the same technical team; however, the overall blend and elevage are different.
