Château Olivier 2001, from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, embodies the elegance and tradition of Bordeaux's Left Bank. This red wine is made from a blend typical of the region, generally dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, sometimes complemented by Cabernet Franc and a touch of Petit Verdot. The 2001 vintage proved to be a classic year in Bordeaux, marked by even ripening and a beautiful freshness, favoring a nuanced aromatic expression and a fine tannic structure, already mellowed after more than twenty years of aging. The terroir of Château Olivier, composed of deep gravel mixed with sand and clay, gives the wine a beautiful minerality, finesse, and a potential for subtle expression of tannins and aromas. Vinification remains traditional and minimally interventionist, allowing each grape variety to express its best typicity after carefully controlled barrel aging.
